Documentas
A signed NDA in Documentas: both signers with signing times, the Simple Electronic Signature card with certificate and timestamp details, and the PDF preview with two drawn signatures
A clear verdict

Four answers, in plain words.

Valid

Every signature checks out and the file hasn’t changed since it was signed.

Not valid

A signature fails, or the file was changed after signing, even when the certificate itself is fine.

Can’t be confirmed

The signature can’t be fully verified, for example when there’s no proof it existed before its certificate’s status could have changed. The technical details say why.

No digital signatures

The PDF carries no digital signatures to check.

Every signature, explained

Who signed, when, and with what.

  • Each signature with the signer’s name, signing time, certificate and issuer
  • Does the signature cover the whole document?
  • Does the file carry long-term validation?
  • Does it have document timestamps?
  • Technical details for experts: the AdES result and the reason in plain words, the timestamp authority, and both the signer’s claimed time and the authority’s time
Document signed on a phone, with the signature logged in the audit trail and every digital signature shown as valid
Checks you can trust

Changed after signing? You’ll see it.

Tamper detection

A file changed after it was signed shows as not valid, even when the certificate itself is fine.

Nothing is kept

The file is checked and then deleted from the check service.

Documentas documents too

Documents signed in Documentas are checked automatically once they are fully signed, and the result is stored with the document.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Can I check a PDF that wasn’t signed in Documentas?
Yes. Upload any signed PDF, from customers, suppliers, banks, authorities or courts.
What does “Can’t be confirmed” mean?
The signature couldn’t be fully verified. A common reason is that nothing proves the signature existed before its certificate’s status could have changed. The technical details give the reason in plain words.
What does “covers the whole document” mean?
A signature covers the file as it was when it was signed. If content was added afterwards, the signature doesn’t cover it, and the check says so.
Is my file stored?
No. The file is checked and then deleted from the check service.
Are documents signed in Documentas checked too?
Yes. Once a document is fully signed, Documentas checks its electronic signatures once and stores the result with the document.
